VR-enabled teleoperation of robotic arm between University of Manchester and University of Edinburgh. An initial approach

In this talk I presented the initial results of the joint effort between the team in The University of Manchester and University of Edinburgh to create a VR intuitive interface to operate a robotic arm between the mentioned universities.

Communication and Perception in HRI for nuclear

I had the opportunity to chair the very interesting Communication & Perception session for the RAIN HRI Workshop. In addition to my small introduction about the meaning of Communication and Perception for HRI in nuclear, the session had presentations from Professor Helen Hastie (Heriot-Watt University), Professor Sandor Veres (University of Sheffield) and Ben Chaudhri (Createc robotics) and an interesting discussion about the role of HRI and its challenges in the nuclear industry.

Estimation and prediction of human behaviour using multi-modal physiological measurements and data-driven methods in human robot/vehicle interaction

I had the honour and pleasure to present my main line of research in my alma mater’s first alumni webinar for the Mechatronics programe.

Estimation and prediction of human behaviour using multi-modal physiological measurements and data-driven methods in human robot interaction

I was invited to hold a reduced version of my talk exploring my PhD work. It was my first event of this sort (i.e. big professional audience, using Zoom and without seeing the audience), which can be seen by my nervousness and bad camera angles.

Talks during REEG RRS Seminar 2020

An interesting and engaging space within the Robotics For Extreme Environments working group and the robotic’s community in The University of Manchester. In the first date (18-05-20), I presented my main research interests (i.

An Augmented Cognition approach in prediction of human behaviour for control in applications in HRI

Ever increasing autonomy of machines and the need to interact with them creates challenges to ensure safe operation. Recent technical and commercial interest in increasing autonomy of vehicles has lead to the integration of more sensors and actuators …

Driving Simulator Test

An experiment designed to measure data from test subjects whilst driving, explanations and most importantly, the results.
